For our anniversary this year, Mrs. the Chemist and I treated ourselves to some new pots and pans. We sprung for some nicer ones than we were used to (a mix of Le Creuset and Made In) and the difference in quality (so far) is dramatic.

The Social Security Administration (per DOGE) instituted anti-fraud checks for benefit claims made over the phone. Only two out of over 110,000 claims had a high probability of fraud — a rate of .0018% But it slowed retirement claim processing by 25%. "Efficiency."
