But realistically when it became obvious his video essays were starting to take off and he began collaborating with people, he should have (privately) disclosed his past to them so they could decide if they wanted to work for him, then made a public statement in a video.

At any rate, I'm profoundly distraught about this and I can only hope the victim is doing well in the years since.
Show PostThis is awful, but I do have to wonder about a lot of the comments saying how bad it is that he's admitting it, like... ...what outcome do we want, here? I'm not sure we should be encouraging people to lie about abuse because admitting to it looks worse.
