Part of the issue is that we’re all technically on nine-month contracts, and we earn outside income from normal academic activities. But many universities have rules that limit outside employment. They just don’t enforce them.

Many posts have crossed my TL re: different tenured professors engaged in full-time outside employment, probably making many times their salary. We’re in the worst academic job market since 2009-2010. There are 100s of qualified ppl who can’t get a TL job. What the fuck is wrong with these profs?
