The piece seems to imply that the biggest problem with using an LLM to extrude a paper is that allows scientists to juice their productivity stats. The actual problem is that a fully LLM-generated paper not based on experimental observations is fraudulent!

I like that this piece emphasizes the importance of defining and remaining focused on the purpose of studying biology. Where is lost me is in the fixation on papers as a metric for evaluating scientists. I know that is what has happened, but the corr purpose of scientific papers is communication.
