Woke up in Ottawa to the happy news that Albertans have rejected the idea of abolishing the Senate! To be clear, no one province can abolish, or quit, the Senate. The question was purely symbolic. But I am still pleased, and a bit surprised, to see Albertans rejecting the premier’s gambit.

He is a small, angry, insecure man who wants to be viewed as a god, and who views any attack on that as essentially an attack on his very existence and an attempt to destroy him. So the child he wanted to be male "choosing" to be (ew) female is, like, the worst attack on HIM he could imagine.
