When it’s outright repeating the original movie, it does it well enough to achieve takeoff velocity. Besides that is a long, laborious setup/explanation of why we’d see that happen, and since people exploding is no longer a surprise it’s now an oft-repeated gag the movie does its best to wear out
Show PostPart of complicating it for a sequel involves giving Grace an estranged sister to go through it all with. Sometimes that means a handy person to bean a killer on the head when it seems hopeless, sometimes it’s good character scenes, as with everything it’s a mix but I think more good idea than bad
Show PostThe villains are again a wealthy cabal with a big estate handy for hunting people, it’s not a family, the details don’t matter. After it’s done lumpily putting together all those details the movie’s pretty fun, and the ending finally does a good capper on the exploding person thing
