New book day!!! I’ve always loved Mark’s Gospel. Earlier this year I had a sabbatical and wrote up my reflections on the gospel after around 30 years of thinking about it. By the end of writing the commentary I was blown away by Mark’s genius.

One-sentence summary of the chapter I'm presenting tomorrow: The thing about preaching is that you have to hear and receive the Good News first for yourself, and interpret Scripture in an active conversation with God, otherwise you're just writing a speech about the Bible.
