Yikes! The last time I visited NYC we paid $160 a night at the Hampton, and that seemed expensive at the time. 😂 Mind you, now that I do the math it was 14 years ago. 🙈

I'm in NYC for work a couple times a year and a just-okay hotel room usually ends up costing $500-600 a night. I'm glad I'm not the one paying because yeesh.

Not for lack of trying! We tried multiple times a few years ago but lodging was just too expensive (unless we stayed out by a highway in Jersey and commuted in). Turns out, banning AirBnBs and making hotels hard to build makes your city expensive to visit. Ended up in other US cities instead.
