It will be interesting to see how this changes in the coming 5 years. Chinese students are presently the largest group, but China's student population is about to peak and will then sharply decline due to changing demographics. Will these students be replaced by a new focus on India or elsewhere?

Maybe the flood of papers clogging journals is exactly the push we need. The current peer review system was already creaking before AI. Instead of patching it, this could be the moment to build something better.
