Vulgar materialism is just wrong. Sometimes, yes, people *do* vote based on their perception of their best economic interests ('perception' being the key word). But people will also pay a premium for their values. And these corporate overlords are willing to sacrifice a lot for their evil designs.

This is not to say that we shouldn't try or fight. This is not defeatism. Rather, it's realism about the fact that it will *be* a fight. Winning power and making policy moves alone will not be enough to make these people part like the Red Sea. They will not bow to us the way they did for Trump.
