It was frustrating, because his stuff would've done a better job that what we ended up getting, but he wasn't going to spend the lawyer time updating his workman's comp and similar policies for one $10K box just because our standard contract was for buying from IBM-sized companies with lotsa lawyers

When I was at AT&T, I wanted to buy some equipment a friend's small company made, but our lawyers' standard contracts for that were way too onerous for him to comply; he said he once threatened to take their contract, replace "AT&T" with his company name, and see if AT&T would accept it (lol no.)
