I discovered this while I was in Japan. Being in a foreign, unfamiliar environment and surrounded by mob of people, strangers, I could be totally alone. Perhaps my soul needs that solitude to comprehend and digest the losses, to heal and to redefine who I am.

Now both me and my husband no longer have a 'home' where someone is waiting for us. We decided we want to leave soon and take a long trip.

Yes, perhaps a part of me died with my mother and our dear cat. And I have to pick up pieces little by little, and re-establish who I am, what I want to do, where I want to be.

I used to think that if I come back 'home' and go back to the old routine, everything will be fine. But something fundamentally shifted in me, and in my life.
