As @alexholmes.bsky.social points out nicely in his YouTube video, the cross-section plots from models show the dry air rushing in with #StormÉowyn very well which helps to aid the descent of very strong winds from above the surface to the surface. GFS is definitely more clean-cut than ECMWF!

You can see why the Met Office has preemptively issued a broad yellow warning for snowfall this weekend based on MOGREPS which showed widespread 40-50% probabilities of snowfall. It should be stressed that the warning has a 'VERY LOW' likelihood so it is very likely to change.
