Want to listen to bats? @wildlifeacoustics.com is running a bat week sale (& a bat year sale) on their Echo Meter Touch 2, which works as an ultrasonic microphone for smart phones (connecting via USB-C charging port). With their free app it lets you listen to bats and identify the species you hear.
Postu gösterTwo lovely acoustic ecology projects from the students. I showed them how to identify bat and cricket calls using Kaleidoscope by @wildlifeacoustics.com, and how a previous group had saved their labels in the program. We discovered that they'd saved an "Ask Sophie" label, which made me smile.
Postu göster@wildlifeacoustics.com Bio-acoustic monitoring can be useful for monitoring species in remote and security-risky areas Like Itombwe National Park. Some species, like the European Nightjar (Caprimulgus europaeus), have been used by researchers there to locate Itombwe Nightjar. #AfricanSoundsWebinar
Postu göster@wildlifeacoustics.com #AfricanSoundsWebinar I love how your devices are able to support such a diverse range of research all over the world. The fact that passive acoustic monitoring devices allows us to gather long-term data in dangerous areas is a game-changer for biodiversity monitoring.
Postu göster@wildlifeacoustics.com Attended a wonderfully informative webinar by Wildlife Acoustics today! A fun fact I learned was how much more effective and useful bioacoustics was for monitoring nocturnal and aquatic species. #AfricanSoundsWebinar
