Even ignoring the obvious on signal, it was a very inferior phone which I was expected to permanently replace my existing landline with (no answerphone, no call ID etc); and the battery lasted < 2 hours. So gods help you if the power went off while you're asleep, because it'd be drained by morning.
Postu gösterFun fact! We had a fourteen hour power cut last weekend and it basically crippled the house! No heat, no cooker, no phone, no phone signal because rural. Fortunately we are all able-bodied and have cars but it was sobering.
Postu gösterI used to live a 30 Min drive from the nearest shop and when power went we had 45 mins till the phone tower also went and then no signal at all. Power outages are Comms blackouts for a lot of the countryside.
Postu gösterhad no signal in the venue so i'm posting pics now oops left before the evening show because i was tired and my phone died (i did Not want to be walking through my hometown really late at night with no phone battery) but i had fun :^)
Postu gösterToday the convo was very much, “oh, no phone signal, use the landline!”, or “no digitial banking, use cash!” Absolutely zero appreciation of how interconnected everything is. Like you said, pay cash to the lass working on the till? How did she get there? Where did the food come from? So naïve!
