The 2000s prospective Dubbo study suggests that 2/3 with post-viral symptoms at 6 weeks will recover by 12 months. The prognosis is more complicated beyond that. The often cited 5% recovery rate for ME/CFS (PMID: 15699087) was based on studies with different followup periods and recovery criteria.
