Everyone seems far too busy to take their time on difficult tasks. Carefully and thoroughly reading papers is just one of many things that is being neglected but I think this sort of performative busyness is a big problem. Also so many people showing up to meetings completely unprepared, etc

I'm not an expert on this at all, but it seems like you would have had to have done all the interesting/difficult work already in creating a very compressed representation for replay to be useful?
