Postu gösterFor context, in 1984, members of ILWU Local 10 refused to unload goods shipped from South Africa in solidarity with that country’s anti-apartheid movement. I wrote about that here, and also check out the work of Peter Cole who has researched that local extensively.

A contact from Italy's Unione Sindacale di Base tells me, in that country alone, there are 100k demonstrators in the streets of Rome, 30k in Milan, 20k in Livorno, 2 million total across Italy.

She started her career as a teacher and became an organizer and union leader after seeing students in her community arriving at school hungry. We are forever inspired by her. We will miss her.
