    It really depends. the last 3 machines I repaired, all had the same fault. the DFAC itself was bad. One of those though had an open via on the analog feedback path. Strong tell on a bad DFAC is you'll have analog on pin 8, but nothing out of the switched capacitor output.

    Does it need IC replacement or just resolder? I reflowed just their legs with flux in mine and only fully reworked nearby SOIC-8 badly hit by electrolytic.

    Yup! I am starting to notice more and more of these go bad now, and it's always on the switched capacitor filter output of the DFAC.
