Exactly. My sister and I were talking about this, and in recent years, Helen Morgan has been a wonderful example of what the Lib Dems bring to the table. 🧡
Postu gösterAnd, they clinch it. This is AWESOME! Right-wing policies given the boot in Shropshire after years of Tory mismanagement. Okay, so Ref*rm took some Tory seats. Not unexpected in certain parts of the county. But to get such a massive result in favour of moral decency is such a fucking relief!
Postu gösterWe moved from Wem to Shrewsbury & the contrast between @juliabuckley.bsky.social & @helenmorganlibdem.bsky.social is stark Helen really stands up for everyone, not just in her constituency but in Shropshire & it shows. Ditto local reelected LD Councillors eg Alex Wagner, Ruth Houghton & Heather Kidd
Postu gösterI don't think it's any surprise that Ruth Houghton & Heather Kidd, both vocal in opposition & local issues that impacted all in Shropshire, often gaining media attention further afield from Bishops Castle & Chirbury, won by overwhelming majorities. It shows being proactive for all works.
Postu göster'BBC News - Shropshire Council Liberal Democrats choose their leadership team.' Heaher is a great choice to lead the council. ❤️
