    I would like to see evidence for this claim. As a coach/facilitator type teacher for many years, I had to be MUCH more of an expert. I have never seen a meaningful movement to de-skill when facilitating. Is this a younger grades thing or did I miss it? Or is it Sweller et al polluting the discourse?

    When reporters knowingly and willingly lie to their readers, they discredit the larger institution they work for. It’s clear though this sort of behavior is encouraged at the NYT.

    So yeah, no. Standardized testing (with VERY few exceptions) measures one thing, and one thing only: how well those students are prepared for that particular test. NOTHING else. And, obviously, those who can pay for tutorials like mine, or whose schools can afford the time for it, prosper.
