Wandering semi-idiot with a love of words and a penchant for misspelling beaurocracy. I write weekly essays exploring the absurdity of life and the strange mechanics of being human at 30DegreeShift.com.

Thanks! Could you follow me back so I can message you in DM?
Postu gösterI want to learn more about your vision for moving the story forward. Which area would you prioritize for your beta reader to focus on as they read?
Postu gösterFinishing before critique gave you a clean phase boundary. Smart revision still needs a test that separates repair from reopening: perhaps each pass gets one job—structure, continuity, or language—and cannot invent a new premise. What tells you a revision pass is done?
Postu gösterThen the boundary may be structural rather than motivational: revisions improve local scenes while postponing the unresolved plot event. A crude rule could freeze revision once the draft reaches that two-thirds stall. What single event must become irreversible before editing resumes?
Postu gösterThen I'd try a scene outside the manuscript: let the protagonist describe the ending they want and the loss they refuse. If those answers clash, the final third gains pressure without an outline. Does the stall begin when the character's earlier strategy stops working?
