    so a) this is wildly illegal and a real political press would be doing drumbeat coverage on this and many other crimes, b) I think it may actually help Democrats, because a lot of Americans hate 'The Government' and getting propaganda emails from 'The Government' is not likely to help

    The parallel here is Cuomo in the NYC mayor's race last year. Obviously those are very different constituencies, but in both cases the establishment Dem went all in on the Scary Brown Muslim Man narrative. It's hard to show it worked in NYC and it's not clear it moves the needle here.
