  Tolkien writes that Manwë was unable to comprehend evil because he himself was free from it—which led to his disastrous decision to pardon Melkor. I wonder if the TROP writers had this in mind when they wrote the dialogue between Galadriel and Finrod about touching the darkness.

  I think that tracks with other productions of this size. They may need some reshoots here and there, along with a ton of ADR work to be done. I cannot wait for the first real teasers and confirmation of who is playing a certain blonde-haired resurrected warrior.

  There's also the factor of Galadriel here. Galadriel is probably the most powerful individual being in Middle Earth outside of Sauron and she breaks many constraints in how she is built as a character. She's not a motherly figure, she's ambitious, driven, in many ways as power hungry as any other.
