@peanutlover.bsky.socialTolkien writes that Manwë was unable to comprehend evil because he himself was free from it—which led to his disastrous decision to pardon Melkor. I wonder if the TROP writers had this in mind when they wrote the dialogue between Galadriel and Finrod about touching the darkness.
Show PostI think that tracks with other productions of this size. They may need some reshoots here and there, along with a ton of ADR work to be done. I cannot wait for the first real teasers and confirmation of who is playing a certain blonde-haired resurrected warrior.
Show PostI think he might be Glorfindel, sis. I'm hedging my bets on it.
Show PostThere's also the factor of Galadriel here. Galadriel is probably the most powerful individual being in Middle Earth outside of Sauron and she breaks many constraints in how she is built as a character. She's not a motherly figure, she's ambitious, driven, in many ways as power hungry as any other.
Show PostI would love an Elrond prologue with all the Silmarillion stuff they don’t have rights to but ALAS, not happening. so my guess is it’d be a Galadriel-centric one because they’ll alternate between her and Sauron until s5 and then do something different for the final one.
