I think Oregon’s Congress members could score a lot of points by not supporting Jeffries and Schumer House speaker and Senate majority leader. Oregonians voted for a right to healthcare. Neither of these guys support that/Medicare for All. They’re also spineless, pro-war fools that harm our people.

I will note that a) this building is very near a number of market rate buildings built in recent years and b) its units are for people earning 60% MFI, which for a single person in Portland is $53,940 a year.

Honestly I’ve been curious if there’s any interest from the CEIC on removing or modifying it. I’m still baffled that the landmarks commission wanted grand Belmont to “genuflect” to the Weatherly Building. nonsensical on a few levels

A friend who works in historic preservation has said to me that the Grand Ave district really should have been a multiple property designation. There are some genuinely architecturally noteworthy buildings in the area, but they're far too scattered to form a cohesive district.

Hypeeeee, and for some reason was subject to historic review due one of our most ??? historic district (I genuinely don’t get who actually *wants* the Grand district)
