Postu gösterWe don’t know where the barriers are between “things that have consciousness” and “things that do not,” or indeed if those barriers exist at all. We don’t know if consciousness is binary or a spectrum. We don’t know if it’s a product of complexity or energy or some physical property.
Postu gösterThe reason the AI consciousness debate is so annoying isn’t that AIs are conscious (my view is that they’re probably not, for the ten gazillionth time), but that saying they are CONCLUSIVELY not conscious resolves a bunch of specific questions about consciousness that are very much unanswered.
