Final fantasy was both banger and love, so I guess trek gets to have the sad fourth quadrant for me of not very fun and I don't much care for it.

Which isn't to cast aspersions on trek as a concept or something. Once the game starts I genuinely don't care what is on the top half of the card. Avatar was a banger set and I dont even like that show. Tmnt was trash and I *love* turtles.

I love limited play almost more than anything else in magic. And I judge sets solely by how I feel after a losing run. If my thought is "screw this, I can do better than that, hit me again dealer" I know it's gonna be a banger of a set. If it's blase indifference? Oof.

There are definitely really cool and interesting cards but disparate designs does not a thriving limited make. I think part of it is also the unfortunate fact that Reality Fracture is an all timer format and any follow up is gonna suffer for it (see capenna after Kamigawa for instance)
