re: switch 2 emulation, dumping, etc, this is a good view of it, and one reason why tcrf isn't allowing ripped Sw2 stuff at this time. in the past you'd get people coordinating on when to release things, how to do it, now it's a free-for-all to get it done first

i can't wait for the inevitable lawsuits about it. people have forked Yuzu and used AI to hack Switch 2 support into it and have stuffed their personal PayPal links into it while also telling people where to get game files. these people are Stupid and are going to fuck everything up for everyone

if we had someone who had actual skillsets start making a Switch 2 emulator by hand (all models were trained on stolen Nintendo SDKs), and kept their t's crossed and i's dotted in making sure it is as clean room as possible, no keys no nothing, it wouldn't be bad but with the context.. we're fucked

i do not think it is a problem that can be solved. the cat's out of the bag and a lot of the wider scene at large (end users) have made it clear this kind of toxic behaviour and attention-chasing clout-farming is a-okay as long as it gets them what they want: FREEJAMES!!!
