  Well fitted high quality masks definitely work. When transmission is high in your area, masking in crowded areas definitely reduces your chances of getting infected. When it is low, the added protection is obviously lower- but does that mean it's not worth it? Depends on your own risk tolerance.

  Well, take for example California. His map shows effectively the whole state at ~1:25 currently infectious. Here is the ww concentration data trends. You're to tell me that during 5 prior waves one in 5 people were actively infectious? No chance! It's completely out of touch with reality.

  This could be the start of an early winter wave, since the northern half of the country had effectively no summer wave. We shall see in the next week or two. No one should trust Hoerger's data, it's made for maximum clicks via fear mongering, not accuracy.
