Ver postThe midterm should radically change how the US Congress pursues transportation policy. Dems go from 47 to 54+ seats in the Senate, plus 214 to 255+ seats in the House. The transportation legislation Congress has been considering this year no longer makes sense given that new composition.
Ver postThe US House was advancing BUILD America 250, federal transportation legislation. That proposal would massively cut funding for public transit & intercity rail if enacted. Dems can prevent the passage of that or similar bills during the lame duck—and write their own legislation next year.
