    Bought this about a month ago and it's been great for a little timeout. Waiting on the tea to brew, or code to finish, or in a commercial break, just pop over to the counter for a couple minutes. (Sometimes a lot longer, depending on what you get!)

    Apparently hundreds of machines on campus. Locked, can only be *manually* unlocked, backed up, and wiped. "Back up your stuff elsewhere" has never been more important, no matter the scenario.

    YES I was waiting for this news! It's a huge deal. The Texas SBOE drives education trends for the whole country because the population is so big; they can choose textbooks, for example. Years ago they tried very hard to teach creationism in schools but were beaten back.

    All the Mac computers in the lab across the hall just got remotely locked by IT, in the middle of everyone working. Random "What the [expletive]" and similar. (Apparently the machines weren't running the latest OS and apparently everyone had been warned. Not my research group so just a spectator.)
