Aww. When I was in the studio for Warriors' Gate and hovering on the sidelines trying to keep out of everyone's way, it was John who came over and made me feel welcomed. Usually while the crew were rebooting the cameras that K9's radio controls had knocked offline. Ave,John

Negative master, negative. Oh K9. The first thing in Doctor Who I loved totally was K9 and John Leeson was responsible for SO much of that. The voice was absolutely inspired and brilliant. John was THE K9. So sad to hear this.

My first memory of Doctor Who is The Invisible Enemy and so John Leeson - and K9 - has always been an integral part of my journey through the show. What an erudite, charming, courteous, multi-talented man. An INTERESTED and therefore INTERESTING fellow. A pleasure to be with. Bless him. RIP John.

RIP John Leeson. We met in the early 80s & years later I asked him to bring back at Big Finish not 1 but 2 different K9s, often in the same scene. And he did so with 2 different vocal inflections so we could tell them apart. There was nothing John wouldn’t muck in and do. Farewell you adorable man 💔

RIP John Leeson. The voice of K9 could've gone wrong in any one of a thousand ways, but Leeson managed to instil humour, pomposity, slyness, peevishness, sincerity and sweetness into a vocal performance that always maintained a surface level robotic detachment. That's bloody good acting.
