MH professional here. Deeply agree. I loved a lot of it to be honest but had to regularly pause and deep breathe in sections of it. So disheartened that podcasters I so appreciate didn’t bring in experts to talk about this which would be most responsible with their platform.

I really really love this podcast so I am gonna be really sad if y'all don't recognize how you fucked up here and publicly address it (apologize, do an update episode, whatever). it's a shame because the book sucks! there's a lot to say about how misogynist and homophobic van der kolk is, how his conclusions are not backed up by data, the impossibility of verifying anything because he uses composite characters. but the research is lacking here!
