    I think this aligns with what you're describing pretty well. Helping ourselves still practice retrieval, generating hypotheses ourselves, will help us more deeply think about the output we're assessing next, etc! Other things I advise are using AI to get partially worked examples

    Instead of making it a dichotomy to use or not use (there are a lot of competing goals to gain fluency with AI for folks), I like to make it about identifying handoffs btw manual & automated. "Take a beat to pre-test yourself, guess this mechanism" then use AI to generate, then test the guess, etc
