It is actually unhelpful to us to have stories that impact us reported without a careful attention to detail — and it is unhelpful to have emotionally charged headlines being used to draw attention to something else.
Ver postIf your position is that Arday was mistreated by the press, and it’s clear you’ve got a target on The Times, then you should be modeling the editorial standards you’re accusing others of not having. You should be asking experts familiar with those journals about their experiences with those notices.
Ver postFirst, it’s your paid editorial responsibility to make sure your publications are properly reported, not mine to tag you! It’s troubling that not one person saw the problem here, even as it went into VERY wide circulation. It’s good to see an update but I don’t think this is sufficient.
Ver postGonna do the deeply unpopular thing and point out that the new Byline Times reporting on Jason Arday is so irresponsible to the point of feeling predatory The headline and opening para make a claim that they subsequently do not back with details, a source, or ANY evidence.
Ver postMichael Lewis introducing me last night. I would say that I am more obsessed with NIH and its power for good than I am with Director Bhattacharya who does not seem to respect that adequately.
