i didn't even know about the hold—the 30% cut was egregious enough which is why (exclusively as a patron), it pisses me off that patreon consistently tries to push me to the app when i'm making changes to membership tiers or something

Ver post(*Also Patreon actually WANTS to do this change and has wanted everyone on this model for years and is in part using Apple as a scapegoat and that's why they won't push back. But this thread is already long.)
Ver postThe only thing that backtracked them last time was the lawsuit from Epic Games against Apple; Patreon won't push back on their own and once the change is pushed they certainly will never roll back. I don't see things changing in two weeks.
Ver postBut no matter how much I remind folks, someone won't have seen any of this and will inevitably use the app to pledge after this change. They will pay more for it, and then I will be watching that payment sit in my account for 3 months. Every monthly charge is held too, not just the first one.
