    Hi Sergey! thanks for poking. I think that version of the image either part of our PDS deployed config, or our "PDS entryway" auth service (which isn't fully open source). either way not the bsky app repo (social-app). I passed this along internally

    Dear @bsky.app friends, as a web performance engineer I just noticed that bsky.social/assets/illus... image used as a background on a login forms is not compressed correctly and therefore weighs 1.6Mb which causes experience to load too slowly. You can just convert it to AVIF (~10x size savings).
