The thing about litrpg is that it's trying to sell RPG writing at literary - and it's revealing that the base literary value of most RPG writing is lacking.

i like how the select animation for the character named Jabali (about 44 seconds in) reads almost like a Joke Reveal, wheeling around to lift up a really big gun. in a hypothetical College Humor version, he'd turn and hoist up an increasingly bigger gun every time they selected him or something.

the lighting is so sharp & precise that it gives perfect "actor a little too close to their lightbox". the cuts from idle animations to the selection animations & back to neutral are just unreal enough. the costuming is almost exactly "GotG-era MCU" in terms of "compromising concept art w reality".

thinking abt how this is pretty much exactly on the right-side foothills of the uncanny valley graph. it almost perfectly captures, like, "2010s College Humor sketch abt a silly character select screen, w/ actors doing the exaggerated breathing & motions of mocap characters & improv'd select barks"
