addendum - after a weekend of very warm spring weather, sleeping in heat, and a decent burl at lawn mowing I don't appear to have my old heat intolerance/sweating ALL THE DAMNED TIME. I can't say *all* these things are definitely related, but it's a really suspicious number of things going well.

Joking this morning in a friends' channel about animal political parties If the Cougars Eating Faces Party is bad, what's the best animal to form a political party? I say rats. I'd vote for the Rat Political Party in a heartbeat. I think I can get behind their platform 100%.

i feel slightly bothered about tunneling in principle but i guess it's just going from backbone to backbone, which all packets do anyway, so, who cares? i do. i care. i will call fucking tech support every god damn day until they give me native v6

i was being coy but they installed the fiber yesterday actually and i've been waffling over whether to cancel the cable or go back with my tail between my legs. but i finally got a static ip (actual static, not just static dhcp assignment, bizarre) and the tunnel works so maybe this is fine
