okay but these small fixes don’t actually add up. this government is still tearing apart the social fabric by implementing ferociously bigoted policies, wrecking the economy by forcing more neoliberal austerity, and destroying the planet by takkng bribes from the fossil fuel industry.

There is a disconnect here. The Sachsgate issue was a moral panic and included no allegations of sexual assault. Retrospective blather isn't wise, it's idiotic.

The point is when he was making very sensible points about addiction as well as points that resonated with the left we didn’t know that he was a predator. When it came to light that audience abandoned him hence his need to become maga adjacent.

Why did so many on the left cosy up to Russell Brand when he was a massive international star who hadn’t been accused of rape? Why did so many on the right hero-worship him when he was an unhinged conspiracy theorist who had? I mean, it’s not exactly the same question is it?
