Me gusta públicos de la red Bluesky.
It would probably still have been a good story but I'd have treated it more like, say, Shadowbringers rather than something very personal (my estimation of a lot of Dawntrail's back half is also very shaped by first playing it while still coming to terms with a death in the family)
Ver post(TW loss) I think with some space from playing it if I hadn't played E33 after having just earlier that year been on medication to help me with depression related to a relative's illness and death I doubt the story would have landed so hard with me
Ver postThe aesthetics and the textual stuff about painting and imagination (and the very FFXIV "does an artificial world have an intrinsic right to existence") felt less important to me than it being a story about the ways people retreat into coping mechanisms for grief they aren't able to process
Ver postI'm really torn on the endings because I completely get the criticisms of them I've heard and yet still also feel like (as art should) it hit me in a very specific way that resonates beyond the text itself and absolutely moved me to tears for reasons many wouldn't even share
Ver postBe that escapism, art, or even addiction - and where does one become the other
