🎮Recorded for another AAA game today! 🎙️Remote 🦊Thanks to @voicefox.bsky.social for making this possible I'm 9 hours in with this one, for mostly one character too! I look forward to sharing more when I can, hopefully in 2027. 😄 #voiceacting #gameaudio
Ver postTrust me, barring occasional issues like vocal damage from screaming, or payment not being commensurate with the work volume, voice actors will *never* say, "I have too many lines." 😂 That said? I wanna end this post on a positive note--I applaud the devs for replacing AI with human actors.
Ver postThere are multiple existing frameworks, both union and NU, to help you budget for voiceover. And you *have options*, even if the amount of money you can pay your actors is literally $0. Making games is making art, but it's also project management—and project management *also* requires creativity.
Ver postAnd, on the backend: if the idea of "This game's too big to have everything be voiced," you as a developer have SO many options. If you're a snarky undead? Possess one of your minions! A few fully-voiced bits + generic-use vocal barks works, too! But ""generative"" stuff is uncreative and unkind.
Ver postI think they meant, "Our producers would just go crazy if they had to spend money to make our game good."
