Post anzeigenAbstraction isn’t necessarily a 1:1 allegory for death by suicide so much as it’s like losing oneself in any kind of mental health spiral, including addiction. How everyone visits Jax and the other abstractions also reminds me of visiting a loved one in long-term care or inpatient treatment.
Post anzeigenCaine showing everyone their human lives reminds me of the ending to the film Cinema Paradiso; it’s a love letter from Caine showing the humans there’s hope, and that they’re more than their dysfunctions… the ultimate tragedy is that Jax, after his ordeals in the Circus, didn’t see it that way.
