Show PostWhat level of realistic human trauma should we have to ignore in order to fun-nify a character, especially when that character IS, thematically, trauma? Unless you're just pitching this to a bunch of folks who have no idea who she is or what the film plot was, how do you NOT actively ignore that?
Show PostAnd then we go "Wow, that's pop culture now! We all LOVE that iconic character and how just EVIL they were in that movie! The idea/image of them is now some level of fun for us!", and they stick that person in Fortnite... It's okay, it's not the REAL pedo-killer, right? ... See what I mean?
Show PostOR, let's go a step further (because, again, since you're understanding the point I'm making, it really comes down to "where's the line/threshold we shouldn't cross?"): What if some actor does a PHENOMENAL job playing a creepy-ass pedophile in a psychological horror movie?
Show PostThink of it another way... we love Nikki because of Inde's *performance*, not because "haha, that character sure was fun." What if an actor did a PHENOMENAL job playing a character dying of cancer in a drama. Would we be like "Yay!", and then shrug when they put their hospital-bed character in game?
