Rising sea levels won't just flood the cities either. In the SE of South Australia, a large area from Kingston down through Lucindale to Millicent relies on drains to the sea to keep former swampland arable, and a wider area relies on groundwater for irrigation. Both at risk.

It makes a huge difference in commute times. When I take the subway my actual ride is only about 15 min. If I’m waiting 5 min instead of 20 that nearly cuts my commute in half. I get where I’m going way faster at rush hour bc they send more trains and trains don’t get traffic jams.

When the train service here went from once an hour to twice an hour for faster trains I changed from "gotta plan to be there at exactly the right time." to "I'll take the next train and get there when it works out." So much easier to use.

Lots! it is very easy to go from suburbs to the CBD, but not so easy to go from suburb to adjacent suburb. For instance Brunswick is close to fitzroy but hard to get to on PT.
