Show PostWell this is bang up my alley! Gave me Stereolab vibes at first, with the intentionally prosaic lyric and odd tine signatures, but really you are very much your own thing. LOVE the piano, and the jazzy chords dripping in #11s and b13s. Loved the Steely Dan-like progressions, and how interesting...
Show Post... the melody that you carved from it was. And the exquisite soloing. I loved when the vocals came back in at the end too. And then, when it was finally over, I was sad. Magnificent track. Thanks for sharing and if it's your first time, welcome!
Show PostLove the urgency of this musically and lyrically. And wow! This takes so many interesting turns. From the opening baseline I was expecting something new wave or noisier but this is sooo much better. It subverts that more bombastic approach and creates a world of possibility and ways of protest
Show PostThank you for that, Peter. I was pretty sure there's more going on than I could pick out. I'm going to listen again now that I have the inside scoop! You're right - the rhythms flow so naturally into each other. Nothing feels jarring or contrived when you modulate. I appreciate you taking the time!
