As a formerly Esslingen-adjacent individual, the statue (commemorating a famous folk tale) is getting much of its outrage from the villages above the city. Those villages have, let us just say, a reputation. Some days it's 2026 up there in the Schurwald. Some days it's 1626.

revisited some statistical code I was trying to implement a year ago that was broken (confidence intervals weren't confidence intervaling). pointed Claude (Opus 5.5) at it and ask wtf? Came back with 3 distinct estimation problems that together could cause the failure, and yep. What is this world?
