The only thing this game in Ottawa is missing is a little Brandon Hagel mixed in there. Too bad the Senators couldn’t borrow him for 24 hours. A little 4 Nations redux.

My scouting report (from the worst hockey scout in the universe.) Mittelstadt looks GREAT. Brilliant assist on Laval's second goal, more than solid defensively. What a steal he could be at 197th in the draft.

I have no explanation for this. It was so avoidable and unnecessary???

Very solid 40 mins. Top line flying, solid pk at the end of the period. Dobes looks more than fine. Now let’s see if they’ve learned anything on how to protect 2 goal third period leads.

We need to start talking a bit more about Guhle and Carrier. They're turning into a shutdown pair. The value of that is immense and there hasn't been on in a long time in Montreal. 65 XG share again. They elevate each other's game and get tough minutes against the other team's best. Huge bonus
