Once all your games look and play like soulless trash because no one feels like they have to put effort into them anymore, you'll care. And by then it'll be too late. An ounce of critical thinking skills would go a long way for these people.

I used to get grief for making content that was outside of the "scope" they considered to be retro gaming. "PS2? Too new! Why not Amiga, Atari, or C64? For gamers who hold onto the past so hard, they sure do jump to support the trend train pretty quick if it gets them a new Dizzy game...

And y'all forgive me, I've been in a "mood" the past week. But what bums me out is seeing Retro Gaming creators/fans I've admired for years clapping like seals as soon as old devs announce a new game in a franchise that's been dead since the 80s and say nothing about them using Gen AI to do it.
